Welcome to N-Body Building.
This website is dedicated to explaining the building blocks of a basic parallel Barnes-Hut tree N-Body code realized in the framework of the CS205 class at Harvard’s School and Engineering and Applied Sciences in December 2013.
Watch the movie below for a 3-minute overview of the project.
The Team
Marion Dierickx is a graduate student at the Harvard Department of Astronomy. Originally from Fontainebleau, France, Marion has been living in the US for five years. Her research is focused on using large-scale N-body & hydrodynamics simulations to uncover the dynamical history of Local Group galaxies.
Stephen Portillo is also a graduate student at the Harvard Department of Astronomy. Stephen hails from Edmonton, Canada. His research interests focus on the astrophysical detection of dark matter in the Inner Galaxy using Fermi-LAT observations.
